Recently our fridge broke which created a cook everything inside type scenario (mainly kale and beetroot). I had to think of the best way to cook a 500g bag of kale….. kale chips of course!
I’ve made kale chips a few times, they take no time at all to make and are great on there own with olive oil and salt. I’m a little tahini fiend though so I had to see what they were like marinated in the protein based paste. As I suspected, entirely yummy.
The method of cooking retains all the nutritional value of kale creating a nutrient dense snack. I’ve edited the ingredients using a 200g bag of kale as I imagine its unlikely you’ll cook the amount I had to.
3 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp tahini
1 tbsp tamari (or soya sauce)
Pre heat the oven to 150 degrees. De-stalk the kale (there not bad for you they just don’t taste nice). Then massage the kale with the olive oil and tamari until its evenly coated. Then massage the tahini into the kale. Your fingers will get messy but its worth it. Lastly, sprinkle some salt on top and then pop them in the oven for 10 minutes.
